Ten on Thursday

  1. MonkeyMan fixed the Monster Eyeball wreath so we can put away the Halloween decorations. We had everything else packed up Halloween night after we came in from Trick-or-treating. I think this is a record for us for getting the decorations away.

  2. One of my friends gave birth today to a son. At home. The baby is almost 11.5 pounds. Ouch! I looked up MonkeyBoy’s stats and he didn’t hit 11.5 pounds until sometime between five and six months old. Isn’t it fun how different babies can be?

  3. We got to attend a speech by Buzz Aldrin this past weekend. I used to have a picture of him in my room as a kid. Kind of neat to be in the same room as one of my childhood heroes.

  4. I knew MonkeyBoy wouldn’t be able to sit still for Buzz’s talk. So I came prepared. He passed the time with headphones (on low), my iPhone, and videos on YouTube.

  5. MonkeyBoy’s become a little flirt. He can hear when the little neighbor girls are outside and he runs to the back door saying “I just need to go outside for a minute.” Earlier this week we went outside to play and he and the girls chatted back and forth through the fence. The next thing I know, the girls are out of their yard and at our back gate. MonkeyBoy runs to the gate and the three of them use their advanced problem solving skills to figure out how to open the gate!

  6. Not only is he escaping out the back, he’s now figured out a way to have even more freedom. He’s finally figured out how to pedal his tricycle!

  7. MonkeyBoy is learning quite a bit from his peers at school. The latest is a high pitched whine of “That’s not fair!”. Afternoons are long around our house.

  8. MonkeyBoy’s had another right of passage – the class picture.

I don’t know what is better, the goofy look or the crooked bangs.

  9. Bedtime has been awful around here lately. It’s difficult to get him to go to bed and then difficult for him to stay asleep. There’s been lots of crying and wailing at 3AM.

  10. MonkeyBoy and I voted this week. He was very excited to help me push the “cast ballot” button and claim his very own “I voted” sticker. No pictures this time, since we voted at night.
