More toys: Little People edition

MonkeyBoy received a 70s era Fisher Price Little People house for Christmas (thanks, Ebay!) and it’s been fun to watch him enjoy it. He calls it “Grandma’s House”. I’m not sure if that’s because there’s a white haired little person or because he and my mom played with it while she was visiting. Or maybe he associates it with my mom because she accidentally smashed the playpen when MonkeyBoy thought it was a good idea to store it under a rocking chair. (Don’t worry, Mom, super glue came to the rescue and the playpen is good as new!)

Playing with the dollhouse is a daily activity. I like how he intermingles his toys. There are vintage little people relaxing in chairs, while a current little person stands in the opposite corner. And then a random Little Einsteins character and a tiny dinosaur have come in for a visit. I gave him some Mardi Gras beads and he often waves those around the house as “fireworks”. Playtime reminds me of the Friends episode where Monica and Phoebe have dollhouses (and thanks to the wonders of YouTube and someone out there with free time here’s a condensed version of the episode).

Right before I took the next pictures I was playing with the mommy and baby Little People and he was playing with the dinosaur. It was “naptime” and he decided that the dino should keep ringing the doorbell over and over again. He laughed and giggled so hard as I’d make the baby cry and the mommy yell out the window “Please stop ringing the bell! It’s naptime!”
