- We received a delivery today.

New floors will be installed on Thursday!
- MonkeyBoy has enjoyed the floor shopping experience. He has claimed all carpet samples for his own and keeps them in a special bag. He was sad when we had to return the flooring planks to the store, as he had been lining them up in the living room and riding his bikes on them like roads.
- MonkeyBoy is still loving his new computer.

We are using it as an incentive and he can earn computer time for good behavior. Yesterday he was bugging me to play on the computer, so I told him that he’d have to clean his toy room first. He agreed and then got distracted with his toys and played for an hour, forgetting all about the computer. And he cleaned up the toys when he was done playing.
- We made smoked chicken and a pizza on the BGE this weekend. We’re still trying to find a pizza crust that we like on the grill, so this time I picked up a pizza from a take-and-bake place. It turned out quite tasty, as did the chicken MonkeyMan made the next day.
- I made Valentine bags with MonkeyBoy’s preschool class today. The kids were very well behaved and seemed to like their crafts. Well, except my child, who decided to run around the room and climb on top of chairs while I was there. I think he was showing off. When MonkeyMan asked him what he did at school today he said, “We were stamping. We did some hard work.”
- Besides the computer, we’ve started another incentive program in the house.

We’re using the cool Japanese stickers I received in a blog trade a few months ago to mark progress on a potty chart. When he fills the chart, he’ll get a Bob the Builder Toy.
- Once he fills five charts, he will have acquired ALL the Bob the Builder toys in the set.
- I had to break down and order these remaining five toys from the UK, since they are discontinued and no longer imported in the States.
- When MonkeyBoy tires of the toys I’m sure we could make our money back selling them on Ebay, but I can’t even fathom getting rid of them after all we went through to find the complete set. My parents hit every farm supply place in their state, we checked stores everywhere we traveled, and I scoured Ebay for months to find them all.
- I’ve learned a valuable lesson about children’s toys – remove the packaging prior to giving the toy so the child doesn’t realize that they come in sets and he could “collect them all”. Especially for toys that are discontinued or retire quickly (Legos, I’m looking at you, too!)
I have yet to let my girls know they could do anything on the computer! I fear the day that they take it over from me, so your solution is perfect.
