Happy Easter?

I don’t want to hunt Easter eggs!

I wanted the green egg!

We’ve been having a lot of this lately. Everything is a tragedy. First he was afraid his friends might touch his soccer ball. Then he wasn’t sure he wanted to hunt Easter eggs. Then it was that he wanted a green one and could only find other colored eggs. Lots and lots of tears!

The good thing about these meltdowns is that they turn off almost as quickly as they turn on. A few minutes later he participated in and enjoyed the egg hunt and happily shared his soccer ball afterward.

Don’t touch my eggs!

I have enough now.

Did you notice his do-rag? He picked it out himself. It’s a size 6-12 months umbilical style hat from his youth and he’s wearing it inside out. Check out his left arm, he gave himself his first ink tattoo in the 60 seconds between me putting him in the car after the child-care swap this morning (in a shopping center parking lot) and finding a parking spot close to the grocery store. You’d think a kid with a do-rag and tattoos would be a little less emotional about egg colors, but I guess he’s a softie inside.
